I know there has been discussion and recommendations regarding a particular type and grade of oil to improve the operation of the Moss gearbox. I couldn't find it in my search; so could someone please offer advice under this topic please.

+1 on MTL. In fact after the car has been standing over winter the Moss box is even better and smoother. They do say it may take 500 miles for the benefits to be felt - maybe leaving the gearbox to steep in the stuff has a similar effect.

I also used it on my Moss box and it really improved it, highly recommended.

I have, and like the RedLine MTL in Moss boxes (and other boxes as well), but have not "dared" use it in a Moss (or all synchro) box with and OD attached and hence sharing the oil.
Perhaps not the obvious forum to ask as the OD was not an option on E-types for known reasons.

Per the service handbook, the gearbox should be drained and refilled with new oil every 10k miles.
Redline MTL being synthetic, is it necessary to observe the same frequency and is this valid whatever duration (years) to reach such mileage?

The MTL oil; is there a UK supplier, or do I have to order it from the USA via the website you gave me as a link? Thanks guys, as ever, for your advice.

Always someone selling it on eBay, usually Demon Tweeks or JCC.
