Y have a problem to fit the rear caliper : Y bought the bolts that you can see on the photo, they have the right size, diameter and length but Y can't screw them . They seemed to be "UNF" and Y suppose that they must be "unc" ?
My second question is about connecting the 2 electrical wires on the "coil" which one has to be connected on the + plug ( serie one with + on the earth )

We always reuse the old bolts. I just checked with the guy who builds our IRS's and he thinks that they are UNC but he is not 100 percent sure.
WRT the coil :

For positive ground the "+" terminal goes to the distributor (to be grounded on the engine block). For negative ground the "-" terminal goes to the distributor (to be grounded on the engine block).

thank you for your answer, it's ok for the coil connection, but for the bolts.... All my rear calipers, bolts , pipes have been lost ..... so y am looking for all these parts. Y found the rear calipers in England but they had to be modified .... ( not easy ! )
below , all the parts y need .... ! some of them are easy to obtain, but the calipers and the right bolts are much more a problem :(

below the new calipers before modification:

Lataud, quite often a casting will have UNC threads as the material doesn't work well with fine threads. The bolts that hold the rear cover on the diff are UNC.

Lataud,
You do know that those are XJ6 calipers?
They do need quite a bit of grinding around the mounting holes to fit the E-Type.

they were sold as being fit for my serie 1 3.8 l ..... so Y saw when y tried them on the rear axle that they needed to be grinded a lot !
Now Y can bolt them in place when Y'll have the right bolts ... :?

You can work out the size and thread type for most of the fasteners on the car from their part number in the Parts Book.
This number is actually a code and the way to understand it I am sure is in the Knowledge Base here as well as other places.
So check the original p/no and see what thread and dia. it is - you may need a different length in your case, of course.
Hope that helps

These ones only have a "C" number; C19759. SNG have them listed as NLA.

another problem ... I must connect those wires ! I think that the 3 black wires have to be screwed on the front frame ( ground) but I don't know where the other have to be connected? on a relay? that I have never seen!

I just had the same problem. The early 4.2's did NOT have a relay to power the cooling fan, not sure if the 3.8's did or not. It appears your wiring loom is not made for a relay. Indeed, I tried to buy a relay off SNGB but the relay you would need isnt made at present and its not the same one (R6A) that serves the horns which has 4 terminals whereas the cooling fan only 3. (the W2 isnt there).
On the early 4.2's the black/red goes from the other fan terminal to the otter switch and the green to the fan, the black is the otter switch earth. The way it worked was the fan was powered only when the otter switch provided an earth to complete a circuit. The downside of not having a relay is that there is no control circuit so all cables take the full amperage which is why relays were introduced, but the fans dont use a high current anyway.
I have a Koolcat fan fitted on mine which delivers more air for a slightly less power consumption (so I'm told). I have decided to try it without a relay as I cant get an original one anyway. If its a problem later I will find an aftermarket relay and fit that.

This is from my 3.8. NOTE that this is actually the WRONG relay, hence the jump lead. The other thing you can see on the far left is the brake light switch; my car is RHD.

Thanks Andrew, you have helped me there too. The jump lead allows a R6A relay to be used, I didnt think of that. The early 4.2's like mine didnt have a relay though which is a mystery as the later ones did and clearly the 3.8's did. Wonder why?
