Because of a long tour of Italy and the potential of high running temperatures I opted to uprate the existing fan with a high output 2 speed fan with its own thermostatic switch.
At the time I forgot about the otter switch, but now on looking I note that it has been disconnected.
Do I need to remove the switch as being a potential blockage to full flow?
The new fan worked perfectly and helped keep things cool despite an Autostrada accident causing a huge tail back M25 style.
Comment please

It didn't block flow when connected so the answer is no.

#3 Otter switch
Agree. No need to remove as it just sits in the coolant in the header tank. J

Removing the otter switch would also lead to a rapid loss of coolant :D
