Hello
while looking at (and for) series 1.5 on the web, I cannot figure out why there are differences on the position of indicators (above/below bumper) for 1968 models (having all series 1 tail lights)
here are 2 1968 2+2s:
I couldn't find explanations in Klausager's bible
is it a question of :
. home/export cars ?
. North America/RoW ?
. manufacturing date ?
or a modified version ?
(PS: I fdo not have the exact manufacturing date of above models, they're just claimed as 1968)
thanks

AFAIK if the indicator is below the bumper the bonnet is from a series 2.
It may be that the pictures on the web are incorrectly labelled.

I think you're totally right
I scanned the 1300+ pics of 1968 series 1 E-types on xkedata and there are only 2 with the front indicators below the bumper as on series 2

I guess it comes from either people wanting at the time to "refresh" their S1 into S2 look, or damaged S1 bonnets changed for an S2 bonnet
anyway I would'nt be keen on buying such a car, as finding a S1 bonnet to put it back as originally will be a nightmare tp find, adjust and pay for !
