Post by wilde » Wed Jan 20, 2016 9:31 pm

Does anyone know where I can find the correct material to retrim my dash fascia and top. Jaguar Heritage seems to find it because it looks absolutly correct on their new E-Type Lightweight !

Thanks for your replies.

OSI (formerly Bassett) in the U.S. use convertible top material for the face of the dash. I bought a half yard and "skinned" it....separated the vinyl from the fabric backing. Once separated, it's easy to work with and looks very close to original. The top pad is available from OSI and others.

There's a moulded, padded part sold by most of the usuals. Looks perfect.

Thanks for your advices. I will contact Hustons because I found few pictures on the forum and it's very good. I can compare because I have two cars and one is still with its original dashboard. 64etype is right, it's very close to the convertible top material.

I forget to tell you that my top is a "thin" version and I have read somewhere that the moulded top produced don't fit. Is it a classic black vinyl ?

The picture you have used is one of mine. It shows a new RHD panel covered in vinyl as supplied by Hutsons. Compared to the original covered panels from my MY62, the Hutson vinyl is an excellent copy.
