Wiper motor early 3.8; slow speed and parking position

This "summer" I am using the wipers quite often, just back from a longer trip.
Since >> 30yeaars only high speed is working, now I am keen to get especially low speed working, nice if also the parking position would work.
All wires from the motor are black, non original wiring, I never bothered as high speed was working. Just found a diagram with the correct colours and the connection to the internals of the DL3 motor. The car has positive earth.
- It seems that early cars have a different parking switch, is that correct?
- Can anyone tell me how to check the function of the toggle switch

Alternative, where can I have my wiper motor checked / rebuild?
Any information more than welcome, I checked the forum but could not find the answer

Rain-X is your friend, no need for wipers above 30mph. Also consider fitting the intermittent wiper upgrade.
