#1 Quarter window seals FHC

Post by abowie » Wed Apr 13, 2016 2:11 am

I'm about to fit new quarter window rubber seals on my FHC. Never done this before.

There is a C channel they fit into.

What's the best way to get the rubber in? Does it need adhesive?
any other tricks?
Andrew.

Hi Andrew...done this on my 2+2 and only last week removed them to get the cant rails off and then put the rubbers back in......starting at the bottom nearest the window hinge i put the bottom edge of the seal about 2in into the bottom of the channel then used a 1/4in screwdriver blade to push the top lip in......keep working around.....glue was not needed

I typically use infant-sized tongue depressors for installing rubber bits. They can be sanded to whatever shape is needed and are less likely to damage the rubber--or scratch paint--than a screwdriver.
