I have located from two different sources components that should, if advertised correctly, provide me with a complete braking / clutch system for my 1962 roadster that at some point has had a later braking update installed, which I now wish to return to original.

The purchased parts will need to be restored and checked over and there will quite possibly be a few other parts still needed. Does anyone know of a company who could rebuild / restore these items to a first class standard.

I don't sending abroad if needed.

It's a fairly easy job to restore all the Kelsey Hayes components. Mike Cassidy's guide is in the Knowledge Base here...

Re any missing parts you can just check what you have against the Clutch & Brake sections of the S1 Parts Catalogue (also in Knowledge base) then talk to Richard Smith re anything you need.

Also Hutsons can provide the Kelsey Hayes service parts (belows / bushes, etc).

They can also arrange for re-sleeving of brake & clutch m/cs (can't remember who they used) but others on here have used Classicar Automotive

The one thing I would definitely recommend (from getting it wrong initially) is to photograph the alignment / position of the brake pedal shaft before taking it apart !

Both units should be turning up towards the end of this week and I currently have access to a friends complete unit who has his in storage at the moment whilst his car is being restored, so I will use his as a template which will help in assessing any additional parts needed and the general overall condition of the unit.

If I do get stuck I will no doubt be giving your suggested contact a call to see if the can help.

What Rory has said above is correct, and it is worth reading his original thread on the KH booster which is thorough and detailed.

Don't be put off by the apparent complexity though. As long as you rebuild it with the right components in the right place it doesn't matter whether you truly understand the engineering or not. I rebuilt the booster in my 3.8, and the brakes, all standard, are excellent and as good as the brakes in my other two cars.
