#1 Hose connecting pipe - C16999

Busy on fitting hoses and clips.
Struggling with the inter-hose connecting pipe pump to bottom of radiator: C16999.
The pipe I have, which is new coming from one of the usual suppliers, is having a wide bend making it impossible to connect the two hoses together (even if these would be shortened): http://www.sngbarratt.com/ProductDetail ... 861572&l=7
On the plate in the spare parts book, it is illustrated having a simple sharp 90° bend.
Is the "real" C16999 supposed to be like in the spare parts book or am I missing something?
Have spent already a couple of hours on this, with nice bruises on the front arms.
Thanks for help!

Hi,
I'm having the same problem - having purchased the same items from SNG. I got everything to connect, but it doesn't look right and not as neat as the original (but badly aged) hoses. I am looking into this at the moment to see if i have got something wrong in the fitting. If you get it resolved before I do, let me know! I will of course post a reply if I get is sorted before you.

Regards

Richard

Have you looked in the factory fit section to see if there is anything to help

Is the pump inlet correctly angled, and the radiator outlet? I've seen mismatched versions of both.

I have looked as well in the factory fit and could not find any lead.
I found a post http://www.myetype.co.uk/forum/viewtopi ... 999#p42879 which does illustrate the same issue. And I find that the final setup of Rory is somehow not satisfactory.
The pump and radiator outlets are both angled correctly, and when I fit the hoses it is clear a simple 90° sharp elbow is needed such as illustrated in the wsm and spare parts book.
Guess will have to pass with the hoses by a plumber to get a suitable elbow.

I recall having to shorten both ends of one on my 3.8 to get it to fit...

Thanks abowie & ralphr1780 - I followed the threads and the pics from 2011 are most useful. It suggests that the issues with the pipe/hoses from SNG still exists as cutting down the hoses seems the only recourse. Not pretty, but as long as it works.....
