#1 hold down straps colour

Post by willys » Sun May 24, 2009 8:51 am

Hello from Belgium. I'm almost finished with the total rebuild of my
64 3.8 OTS. Soon I'm going to fit the hood to my car. The colour is
dark blue outer/tan inner. Can somebody tell me what should be the
colour for the hold down straps ?
What colour used Jaguar for this regarding the inner hood colour ?
Thanks for your advice ?[/b]

Originally all the hold down straps were olive green in colour although many owners prefer to have them to match the rest of the leather interior. SNG Barratt sell new ones in the correct olive green leather or go your own way as it is not really important unless you intend to Concours the car. Your choice.

Thanks David, should they be available in tan, the same colour as my
header rail cloth ?

Dirk

Generally most people get whoever is doing their interior to make up the straps from leather off-cuts - they are very simple and any trimmer should be able to stitch them. As far as I know SNG only sell the 'correct' olive green leather ones (and possibly black) but give them a call and see what they have to offer. As I say olive green is correct for your model car.
