#1 Diff nut size

Post by Allan_R » Tue Jul 02, 2019 8:23 pm

Hi!

Can anyone tell me the size of the diff nut. I don't have a socket big enough so I'm after the right size so I can go buy one.

Thanks guys!

Hi.....i just measured across the flats as 1.13in.......i actually used a 5/8W (11/16BS) it was a good tight fit.....my guess would be that a 1 1/8af would fit as that is 1.125in.......are you stripping the whole diff or just doing i/p seal.. if just the latter then punch mark the nut/shaft/flang.. so that you can retighten to the exact same position or you may compress the collapsable spacer even more if your fiff has one......note you will probably need a puller to get the flange off.....Steve

Thanks for the info! I'll see if I can but the right size now!

Its a US spec car & Diff so I was debating if I should change the ratio's as I believe this is a popular mod to reduce the revs in 4th
