I'm in the process of refurbishing my soft top and find that the wooden stiffener at the leading edge of the roof frame is broken in the middle.
I see that SC list this as a separate part in their catalogue but SNG Barratt do not, although I know SNG do not show all of their range.
Has anyone ever come across a stronger version of this part, maybe using a different material? Any recommendations for a supplier?
Happy New Year to all!

I had a similar problem with the wood in my S1 top, although it was delaminating/cracking in the middle where the tension of the middle retaining clip would put it under load, rather than being broken in two parts.
As I was nervous of buying a replacement and having trouble with the fit to the existing metal front hood bow, I decided to repair mine. I cut slots using a Dremel cut-off wheel (the thicker fibre type) in the wood to accept lengths of aluminium strip and epoxied them in to provide reinforcement around the weakened area as well as using epoxy to repair the cracking. The result is fine so far.

Mine was beyond repair; Hutsons supplied a new one which was laminated in the same way. It took a bit of work with a Dremel sanding drum to get it to fit so re-using the old one, if possible, would be the way to go particularly once you see the price :( Model Fixings should have the Tee Nuts.

Ok, I will need to adresst his in my restoration as the metal sheet has been cut to allow the top to come down with the roll bar in place. I took the roll bar off and now have to deal with welding metal to replace the squares that were taken out. then figure out where or how to replace the quarter round that should run the lenght of that panel.
I will also need to replace the leading hedge wood part since it is completly dry and brittle... I saw on the net that it goes for $350... Anybody has a cheaper solution?
