69 a/c eccentric block part c 28167
#1 69 a/c eccentric block part c 28167
Hello guys!
I have not been on this blog for a few months as I was moving... from Montreal in Canada to Fribourg in Switzerland!
I left June 15th and have now gotten around to finishing off the few last details on my Jaguar E-type OTS from 1969.
I did not spend much time looking for the last few missing parts I need, so I am back on this forum asking if anyone has knowlage of the whereabouts of an eccentric Block to attach the jockey pulley of the A/C system of my car. It's part number C 28167 with bolt C 24447.
If anyone has a 69 with a/c I would appreciate if you could take a close-up picture of that part so that I could have one made, worst case scenario.
Any help with this enigma would be appreciated!
Thank ahead of time!
Francis

Here are some pictures taken in late December in Fiona's new home of Switzerland.
All she now misses is that eccentric block to finalize the project. I have been driving her since she arrived in early July until late October about 500 milles... not yet broken in!

Looks beautiful, Francis! Is the interior Cinnamon?
The DPO took out the A/C in my 70 OTS, hackingthe harness and everything. So I have a bunch of parts but no idea how they go back together or where the "eccentric block" is you're looking for; if I even have it! That'll be a challenge for some time into the future.
Good luck!

Thanks Jim,
Interior came from BAS and they call this color Tan. Cinnamon is a bit lighter in color.
Are those parts handy for you? Can you take pictures of them and I could help you sort thru them.
In 1970 Jaguar changed the compressor and the mounting bracket and did away with this eccentric mounting bracket for adjusting of the jockey pulley.
They started using a fulcrum system.
In early 70 however the cars came with the eccentric pulley. With some pictures, I could identify it for you (and me!)

I have a 68 with a/c.
Dont know what is an eccentric block (maybe you have the French translation?). I'll post tomorrow some pictures of my engine before dismantling.

On the last picture to the right and up from the yellow cloth is a pulley, what is it attached to?

Lovely car Francis, did you take it to the Swiss Classic British Car Club show in Morges back in Oct as I'm sure I saw it there...I know I saw the black Aston Martin Lagonda at the show.
I'm hoping to have my S3 project finished by the end summer and I'll be able to drive it back to Switzerland where it was first sold...I still have a fair way to go, but it should be in paint by Easter.
Here is the story so far

Peter,
Yes I was in Morge last fall with The Jag and the Lagonda. I drove the Jag and got a budy of mine's friend to drive the Lagonda. Upon our arrival, driving thru the crowd of pedestrians, looking for a parking spot, that /%$26%/&? of a driver managed to rear end MY JAG with MY LAGONDA!!!
The Jag sustained a 1/2 inch movement on the rear bumper. I managed to realign that fairly quickly back at home. No other arm done on that one but the Lagonda has a foam covered bumper.
The bumperette on the back of the Jag left an indentation on the LAG's front bumper and I have not gotten around to fixing that yet... GRRR!!!!
This requires a removal of the bumper, sanding down, some plastic work and a full application of the rubberized coating on the outside. 6 to 8 hours of work...
Leason learned. Never leave a coucours car in the hands of such a remote ''connaissance''. To remain polite!
