Rev counter indicating not enough RPM

Hello, my rev counter is not idicating the correct amount of rpms. It looks like half of what it should be , at 60 mph (100km) it is indicating about 1500 rpm. I am using a electronic ignition, Powerspark 45D6 but had the same problem when driving with the conventional distributor. My rev counter is a RVI 4614/01.
My idea is to change the inner work to rvc, hoping that will solve the problem? Did anybody encounter the same problem?

Thanks for your reply. Spidya is where i am planning to buy the conversion so i saw this page. I think my wiring is ok and the problem is inside the tacho because the problem already existed with the the original lucas distributor.

Rolf, an option to consider is that Spiyda will do the conversion for you if you don't want to do the work yourself. They did it for me.

The tacho was reading low, just enough to suggest I had a 3.54 diff not the 3.07 I did have. I was comparing the rpm to GPS speed. Now it has been modified all seems fine.

That looks like the 1500rpm mine gives when driving 60 mph. (I wish it was true) I will order a conversion set this weekend. Thanks for your replys.
