Application: 1970 Series 2 OTS.

After positioning the replacement lower stainless coolant pipe, there is interference with the vacuum pipe because of the stainless aftermarket washers being in the wrong position. Because of where the stand-off washers are welded, the pipe interferes where the vacuum pipe crosses it. Has anyone else encountered this, and what was your resolution? It's clear the current configuration will not work.

The difference (original vs. stainless) can be seen in the photo of the original compared to the aftermarket SS pipe.

I think I might have experienced this problem, not sure from your description.

Have a look here. My solution was to temporarily undrill the offending vacuum pipe at one end, the bend the new water pipe in place!

Others on the forum have had this prob with aftermarket pipes. Terrys Jag (US) allegedly supply pipes that fit perfectly. I hope so cos I just bought a set - haven't fitted yet but they certainly look identical to the rusted out originals.
