E Type S II wiring Harness

Doing a restoration on a 1971 E type S II. I am wanting to buy a complete wiring harness. One to replace all the wiring. Is there a company in the US that makes quality reproductions. If that is not possible then could you recommend a reputable US jag parts supplier that imports quality ones from GB. I would like to buy local if possible. Trying to avoid paying CC currency transaction fees and import tax on parts coming from over seas.

I bought mine from SNG Barrett in the US. Made by Autosparks. Keep your old harness handy, as you will need clamps, connectors, and bits that do not come with the new harness. I also recommend using new connectors. They are cheap except maybe the 3 and 5 pin ones, still worth the money for new.

I will keep the old harness for those reasons. Not sure what connectors you are speaking of. I spoke with the parts dept at SNG Barrnett. He said it would come with all wires cut to proper length. With new connectors installed on wires. Would you fill me in. Maybe I misunderstood him. Thanks Route 66

The harness will come with spade connectors where required, and "bullet" connectors where needed. The bullet connectors are pushed into an insulated connector and the opposite end of the connector will accept the bullet connector from the device you are connecting to. Such as a tail light wire, or a turn signal stalk connector, where the 5 pin connector is located (and this also a connection that is not color for color).

Thank You for that information and the wiring diagram. I have the org mechanics repair manual from when I bought the car but some of the pages where the wiring diagram is has some damage. The new one will help.

I think the only difference you will find between the two is the price. Autosparks is spoken of well here. Mine was very nice.

Also be aware that there are several harnesses other than the main harness.

I have a facility at work to print off large colour wiring diagrams (from the reference section of this forum).

britishwiring.com is the US retail outlet for autosparks.

But you'll probably find that it's way cheaper to order it directly from Autosparks UK.

There are tons of credit cards with 0% foreign transaction fee, and in 35+ years of ordering auto parts from overseas I've never been charged any kind of import tax.

Thank you for your post. I have been trying to order from them but we seem to be having a internet communication problem. I am waiting to hear from them with how much it will cost.
I would like to get set up with a good jaguar parts supply shop in the UK as I will be needing many replacement parts.
