It is similar to the clip which secures the downlink from the door handle to the door latches

And I’m with you on that Andrew.
Is it made of plastic?

I dont think etype either [unless series 3]
It looks like a sliding and locating clip from Saab door handle....................... you locate the door handle from outside the car..................... kind of looping it in, then the clip slide in from behind and latches the handle in place

Not saying its Saab , but looks like a part doing the duty as described

I had to disassemble my wiper motor to get the armature rewound and very assiduously kept all of the bits and pieces involved in a box. The armature came back the other day, and after I'd put everything back together again, this clip was left over. Hence the post. I'm thinking that maybe this [metal] clip was tucked away inside the box before I put all my wiper bits in it?

Thanks for your input boys.

If you have a parts book a search of the wiper motor section may reveal something ?

It's curious how your 1st picture is with postimages.org and will not display when I click on it while the second is with postimg.cc and does display.

I have found that if you right click on the former picture and select "copy image location" and paste that into the address bar of a new tab, bingo, it shows. :salute:

It looks as if the centre of the clip is square suggesting it is located on a square shaft rather than a round shaft, whether that is a reminder of another job that the clip belongs to, but looking in the parts book at the wiper assembly, this type of clip does not stand out anywhere.
Tony
ps Did you race in the SR&GT series?

Hi Tony
Yes I'd come to the conclusion that it secured something on a square shaft. But I'm still none the wiser as to from whence it came. It's definitely not wiper related that's for sure. So I'm thinking that it was tucked away in the box before I put the wiper bits in.
Wrong Andy by the way. The only place I race is down to the Nut & Bolt store.
