#1 Seat removal

Hi All,
About to get my S2 1970 coupe seats recovered. A couple of questions if I may.
1. Can the seats be removed without removing the doors. I ask as my doors are currently removed following other work?
2. Thinking of using GB Classic trim? Has anyone used these guys.

Mine came out no problem. You will likely need to fold them forward and then maybe get a helper to help you work them out of the car.

Hi Darren
Not sure about getting the seats out with the doors on, but I used GB Classic trim to rebuild the seats from my 1970 Series 2 OTS and am delighted with the results.
I went for their standard leather, not the upgraded stuff, and 2 years on they look like new and very original.
They also trimmed my centre console and fitted a new hood. Really nice helpful people also

Hi Darren,
The N/S seat will come out with the door on, you need to release it, turn it on the side around the B pillar.
Did it with mine when the seat runner sheared and needed welding on the passenger side.
Haven't tried it on the drivers side with the steering wheel in place tho ?

Seats will go in and out with no problem. Steering wheel shouldn't be a problem either but if for some reason it is it will only take a minute to remove it.
Any competent trimmer should be perfectly adequate but if you're in the UK and near to Aldridge Motor Trimming I'd go there.

I used Capital Seating (Forward Park, Sheene Road, Beaumont Leys, Leicester) to re-trim my MX5 seats but I supplied the leather which came from BAS as they supplied the trim set for my car. I know that Capital can supply the leather though.

Thanks Andrew. Aldridge are very much on my consideration list along with Suffolk & Turkey. Spoilt for choice in this area of the Midlands for Jag interior specialists. Needs some consideration as it is quite an investment! To be honest price and delivery periods do seem in the same ball park. Looking for a finish as close to original as possible.

I have no connection other than as a customer. They turned round my MX5 seats in 2 weeks for £200+ VAT each, though I did supply the leather.
Though not Jaguar specialists, whilst I was there they had a Mk2 in for complete re-trim. Worth a look I think.
