Attached is a picture of my brand new LH door. The holes marked A along the lower edge I know accept the snap sac type sealing plugs into which locate the clips that secure the bottom of the trim card. But what about the smaller holes marked B along the fwd and aft edges of the door? Do the trim cards somehow attach into these holes, and if so how? If the trim cards are only secured at the top and bottom, then what are these holes for?
Thanks in advance.
Andy

I can't see your A and B markings, but AFAIK all the holes, both at the top and bottom and at the front and rear edges , take the usual green spring clip which slots into the door card with the horizontal tang , with the vertical spring clip going into the door holes

The parts book lists 22 clips and nylon snapsacks - 11 per door

Hi Andy,
Mine, 69 OTS, was as Steve mentioned above. My theory was the snapsacks used along the bottom were used to prevent potential water ingress from the bottom of the door into the door card. I might be wrong about why Jaguar did it that way but my doors only had them in the bottom holes.

Simon,
Sorry for the confusion in my previous post but the parts book lists 22 clips and 22 snapsacks . 11 of each per door although I have found on a couple of occasions Jaguar did not follow the parts book details.

Greg

Interesting Greg, that scuppers my theory.
New theory. Cost cutting by 1969 meant they only fitted them in the bottom.
The holes in my doors were also different sizes which did make me think there was a reason.
Does anyone know if the holes in a S1 door are different too?

Thanks everybody for your input. Very helpful. My original doors only had the snap sacs in the 8 bottom holes, and I think thats how they came from the factory. And I did wonder why only the bottom holes? The water ingress theory sounds good to me.
I'm at the point where I think I'm going to need to hang the door again to fine tune the adjustment of the window frame, which will move the crash roll up or down thereby altering how this fits with the top of the door card and it's securing chrome trim. So probably more questions to follow.
Thanks again
Andy

I found the same, only snap sacs in the bottom holes, despite what the parts book says.
