Dear Brethren,

Can anyone cast a definitive light on what size belts are fitted to a 1969 UK RHD Series 2 2+2 with power steering?

Seems a lost of conflicting info.

I am changing mine as a preventative measure but the only info I can find stamped on them does not google well:

1/ Water pump to alternator 'MAFCO G 888-MADE IN EEC-6K'
2/ Crank to Power Steering 'MAFCO G 735-MADE IN EEC-6J2'
3/ Crank to Water Pump 'same as 2)

Any ideas please?

Hi Nigel, I too have a 2+2 with PAS, when I replaced the belts I spoke with the guys at SNG Barratt who supplied the correct ones, must say fitting the crank to water pump belt was a pig to fit, others have had the same problem. Simon

I have taken your advice and ordered from SNG
The sizes appear different to what is fitted at present but maybe the current ones fitted are not the ideal sizes
Will wait and see

These are the 2 belts that fitted my non A/C car. I got them from my local auto parts suppliers. I had to have 2 goes to get the W/P belt of the correct length which is the beauty of using a local supplier. You can just take them back and ask for something slightly longer or shorter. I hate to be a harbinger of doom, but my pal ordered a W/P belt from SNGB and it was too short for his S2 car.

Every car is slightly different
Makes it easy to find the correct length

Thanks again for all the advice.
Never had such problems identifying the right belts on a car.
The correct sizes are not mentioned in the manuals either!
I think the safest bet is to take off the ones on it at the moment and get them measured.
At least I know these fit!

Could you list the belt sizes when you've measured them please. I need some for a friends car that we've rebuilt. A 69 Ser 2 fhc with power steering, its a UK car but spent many years in Texas,

Andy kindly posted his picture above when I had the same measurement challenge that everyone is discussing here.

Purchased those exact belts (plus two spares for the boot) and they are a perfect fit.

And the photo is printed in my notebook for future reference...

But no a/c - just standard S2 FHC.

I am happy to report the mystery is solved for me at least.

I bought these from SNG and they have gone on fine albeit a different size from the ones I have taken off!

1/ Water Pump to Alternator Par no: EAC1616

2/ Crank to Water Pump and Crank to Power Steering C28955
