Hello all.
Just started on the conversion of my series 2. I have the bulkhead servo pipe that runs behind the dash. I can see where the 2 ends of the pipe exit the bulkhead. I have to remove the 2 end dash sections for the conversion and wondered if it's is possible to install the pipe then. Or is it necessary to remove the whole dash section to fit this pipe.(which l don't intend doing). The easy alternative is to just run a rubber pipe behind the engine.
Cheers Phil.

You don’t need to remove the centre section but you will need to gain access to the space between to bulkheads via the centre dash. When I did mine I replaced all of the vacuum and water pipes. Not difficult but fiddly.

Plenty of threads on this and doing the RHD conversion

Thanks Tim.
Ive managed to get the pipe between the bulkheads but cant get it low enough to fit in the 2 existing holes in the bulkhead. I'll try again tomorrow.

Cheers Phil.

Phil

Run a length of electrical wire into the bulkhead and then through the pipe and then back out through the bulkhead exit hole.

This then helps to pull the pipe into position. I was working alone so tied the ends of the wire together behind me so I could move back to tension the wire with both hands free.

Did all mine with this method and it make a job I was dreading relatively straightforward.

Hope it helps

Cheers
Ash

I used bungee chord rather than wire but same effect. Leaves both hands free to position/rivet in place.
