I’m fixing my seats and need new seat reclining levers.
I have black “flat iron” ones but see that there are chromed ones, are they replaceable?
The chromed ones looks much nicer, can someone explain when they changed type.

Flat iron are S1.5 then chromed S2 (with rear extensions for 2+2) and metal hinge covers, then finally similar S3 which are a bit longer and have plastic covers.
Something like that anyhow.

Hi Peter...my UK 69 S2 2+2 had the black iron levers.....i fitted the chrome.....not a direct replacement and had to be fettled to fit.......dont know when the changeover was you would have to look up in the parts catalogue.....or search for photos on xkedata for when they changed.....SNGB show both types .....BD32688 for the black iron...BD35545/6 for the left and right chrome......Steve

Thanks, just what I thought... it is probably the original ones then.
Just ordered seat runners etc but left the levers out, I will keep them and will try to weld and grind it to fit without any play since I can always replace them later.

Hi Peter
My series 2 2+2 has black flat iron ones as well
I think it depends on when jaguar ran out of the old ones :)
