#1 S2 engine frame bracket

Post by chrisvine » Sun Aug 05, 2012 1:14 pm

Please can someone help with the identifying what this bracket is for and where it's located. I can't recall taking it off and it doesn't appear in the various supplier catalogues:

Servo end support, as stated.

There are, of course, many hundreds of parts not shown in suppliers catalogues, just as suppliers hold many hundreds of parts they don't list. . The Jaguar parts books will give you the part number every time, and almost always a pictire. With the part number you can truly find out if a supplier has the part, whereas their illustrated catalogues only show faster-movinng spares.

The Jag parts books are more comprehensive but even they do not show every nut and bolt and washer. They certainly show this part though.

Thanks all for your replies. I wish I'd taken more photos when I had dismantled it.

David - where do you get the diagrams you posted? I've got the JDHT service manual and parts list but it doesn't have the part diagrams.

It came from the S1parts manual as the S2 shares a lot of parts. Have a look here http://www.etypeuk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1664 for more information.

Hi Chris, Chris here from Sydney Australia however ex of Stoke Poges near Slough........

If you have an S2 I cannot recommend highly enough purchasing the illustrated S2 parts catalogue that is available from JCNA in the USA or xke books.com. Just amazing with all the exploded diagrams that the S1 boys get in the official jag publication. Yes it is a bit pricey but considering one bloke did it all off his own back it really is quite a bargain.......

Hi Chris,

Others have mentioned the S2 illustrated part book and I was tempted but, being written and possibly directed towards the US, I wasn't sure if it covered RHD. Do you know if it covers UK spec?

Thanks,
Chris

Yes covers RHD and is extremely comprehensive you will wonder how you possibly got by without it...........absolutely and completely invaluable. The bloke who did it deserves a medal. Also comes with a CD with hundreds of detailed photos from original cars. No affiliation just a very happy customer.
