Cam oil lines

I am building a series 2 from boxes, in the main doing OK but have come across an issue regarding the fitting of the cam oil lines.

First, does the oil line get its oil from the Main brg drill lines that are all plugged, if so mine does not fit so what kind of fitting is used. Also I have a fitting that looks OK but its threads are fine not coarse like my new ones and it had an orifice in it is this the right fitting.

Second if I fit a union without the orifice will I starve the mains?

Oil feed comes from a small hole below and to the rear of the dipstick hole.

The thread is coarse, same as the head. You will need the appropriate crushable copper washers to seal.

What engine do you have...is it from an E type or xj6?

It is an E type engine, in reply to the other comment there is no hole near the dip stick and the piping sends the connection to the other side of the engine.

Cam feed from the oil filter houseig side is typical of xj6 and some other Jag engins.....sorry to ask again is your block from an E type....is your engine number stamped on the block....or you cam feed has been modified to come off the oil filter houseing like later xj6....have a look here.......Steve viewtopic.php?f=4&t=17590
