Hi,
Is it possible to remove the automatic gearbox without removing the engine in a E-type 2 (2+2) from 1970?
I have a lift in my barn.
Thanks,
Harrie

As per the answer on Jag Lovers not as far as im aware....i havent had an auto and havent actually tried it...put your car up on your lift and have a look....you will then see it all needs to come out.....Steve

Hi,
Of course I did already take a look with my car on the lift.
But I can't see how the automatic gearbox is connected to the engine.
Can't find any picture of that.
Maybe it is easier to remove engine+gearbox from below i.s.o. from top?

Hi Harrie.....out the top or bottom......many find it easier to drop it out the bottom.....with your lift this will probably be the easiest way .....reaction plate needs to be removed either way....if dropping out the bottom the bonnet can stay on....But carbs/manifold needs to come off....Steve
