Just received a replacement from Moss, part # 30735 (same part number at Barratt), which states "for cars with factory power steering." The short leg of the "L", however, contacts the PS reservoir, preventing the shield from dropping into place. Moss says it should fit, but it absolutely will not work. I have looked at many S II engine photos online, and they all seem to all have shields without the "bend" (flat), as was my original, which had pretty much disintegrated. Anyone know of a source for the flat ones?
Thanks,
Mike

I see I accidently posted the same question twice, but can't figure out how to delete the second one.
Sorry,

Mike, sorry, don't know of a better source but some people when having difficulties with getting heat shields that fit make their own out of suitable materials. If you search on the forum you should find some information to help.
Also look at similar topics below, that's a useful feature of the forum to point you to these as a start.
Good luck
Geoff

Hi Mike....you need to look up the part number in the Jag parts list for a car with power steering....then search for that part...not sure if the shield in the photo below is original..Steve PS just had a quick searc on line looks like some suppliers have the same part number but with power steering option so it is available https://www.terrysjag.com/product/C30735.html

Mike,
the heat shield shown in Steve‘s picture is the original one. It‘s very thin, stiff and brittle material, I believe it to contain asbestos. My original one which I broke a corner off was painted silver, maybe original colour maybe not. I‘m still on the lookout for a used original part. Since I‘ve only seen this type shield on late S2 LHD with a/c my guess is they only were US market but anybody can easily convince me otherwise. So if anyone has one left over from a lhd-rhd conversion or an a/c delete give Mike a heads-up.
