Hi Guys
Any advice would be most helpful. The clutch judder on my Series 2 is now unacceptable and I'm advised that the only solution is to replace the clutch and flywheel which is an engine out job. When talking to the experts there is no consensus on the best method to take the engine out what do the members think? Also does anybody have an idea what the labour cost should be? If anybody in Southern England is interested in taking the job on please let me know.

I would say this job would be around the 2K mark, why don't you call Angus for advice and a quote, hope I am mistaken.

Hi Tony....two methods of removeing an engine.....out the top or out the bottom. .....there isnt a "better/best" way ....vary rare to actually need a new flywheel ...this would be assesed when gearbox is removed......As a diy job removal of engine(out top or bottom) is typically determined by your work space and equipment available..Steve

We used to charge 20 hours for engine in/out and around 4 for the clutch.

I have only ever removed engines from below.
