Have been researching and posted on my reg forum (Jag Lovers) and am more confused than when started. Have in hand a new MLS head gasket specified for the Ser 2 block, type with "open" cooling passages, as opposed to (some) Ser 3 head gaskets that have smaller holes for coolant passage (forget if int or exh side). Am using the later water pump, type with impeller upgrade. I have run an MLS, previously, for this "sandwich" and this WP, to good end, engine temp-wise, yet I have to wonder if the fibrous type w/red sealant rings, Ser 3 "restricted" passages may be a better cooling setup.
I would love to use the gasket I have in hand but if there is a better mousetrap...
