Hello to all,
I am looking for a Series 2 OTS E-Type and have found what I thought was a good example. BUT: On the front frame crossmember/transverse (is that what it's called?) you can see this deformation on the left and right where the struts are attached to the frame. This looks to me like a bending caused by an impact. Is this possible or are there other possible explanations?
Kind regards, Klaus

Similar damage on both sides. I would be looking very carefully. How are the bulkhead fixings ?

If that is accident damage then take a look at what may have been replaced ahead of that position. It seems unlikely that you have an original bonnet, radiator, etc if that much energy has been put into the front of the frames by force.
kind regards

Hi,
Marek will know better on series 3 but I don’t like the look of that crease just by the bonnet hinge shown in the last picture.
What’s the rest of the car like .
I’d be inclined to leave and look at others

Accident damage to the front end is quite common - maybe it`s a result of the poor brakes . Check all the other sections of the engine frames carefully - there may be more tell-tale signs of a front end collision .
