#1 Reversing light wiring FHC series 2

Hi . I have a series 2 FHC which has had the reversing lights removed and the holes for the wiring blanked off. Could anyone please tell me how the wiring to the rear for them is routed (left or right of the car) and what I have to remove in the boot to get to them (it). I want to see if the switch is still wired and don't fancy taking the tunnel out. Thanks in advance. Steve

Iām pretty sure the wiring comes up the LHS of the car. Remove the spare wheel cover and the wiring is generally between the rear lights. The holes for the wires to the reversing lights should be in the flat bit just before the curve of the floor up to the bumper.

I thought the series 2 had a pair of reversing lights left and right or is it just on later ones?

Yes they should but mine have been removed. Now I've found the wire they can be replaced.

Get LED ones from Marek and fit them in your rear light lenses in place of the rectangular reflectors which can easily be prised out. Much more effective than the original reverse lights - unless you crave authenticity that is.
