Hi. I'm building my 1970 S2 2+2 from a box of bits, so we didn't take it apart and I've not owned one before! With engine & box in, I'm mounting ancillaries but all the books and literature I have show the power steering pump as a 'self-contained pump' with fluid bottle built in. But mine is a separate pump and fluid reservoir and i am unable to see how it mounts on the engine, and have no idea what the mounting looks like.....? Can anyone tell me if later S2's might have had this set-up as standard? Or indeed, maybe mine is some 'Aftermarket' fitment? Is there a way to find out whether my car left the factory with Power Steering?
Any advice appreciated, thanks.
S2 Power Steering

Hi Name?
If your car left the factory with power steering the Car Number will be prefixed with a 'P' like this one.

The S2 had a Hoborn Eaton pump and remote reservoir. S3 had a Saginaw pump with integral reservoir.
These images may help and are of LHD S2s.

Most cars with power steering will have gone to the US and if you search on jag-lovers.com you will probably find most information. A couple of examples are:

Hope this helps.
