#1 Washer Jet(s) - 1969 S2 2+2

Post by FSMO » Tue Aug 20, 2024 12:49 am

Hi all, new to forum and glad to be here as just got my 1969 S2 2+2.
Preparing for road worthy to get club registration (Melbourne Victorai Australia) and discovered there is/are no washer jets or hose at all! Water bottle and motor all work dfrom rocker switch but just squirts up under the bonnet :(
Keen to determine the correct Jet(s) as this fully restored E Type has no hole in the bonnet as seen on Series 3, and the more foreward windscreen with thin plenum - no hole(s) there either.
So, surveying all S2 2+2 owners for the correct jet(s) type, location and mounting please.
Much apprecciated :)
Frank.

Are you sure you need a roadworthy?

I restored an E Type for a friend in Melbourne. It was a US LHD car we converted to RHD and had never been registered in Aus.

All he needed was the paperwork from the club and took that to Vic Roads and they registered it on club plates sight unseen.

Hi Andrew,
Our club requires a RWC to sign off the vehicle (Hobsons Bay Mens Shed Motoring Group, in Altona).
Maybe your friend's club simply scrutineers the vehicle and signs it off.
I'll see if Vicroads needs the RWC soon enough.
Cheers, Frank.

PS: your 67 project is awesome.
When did you send the Clock off as mine is dead and might do the same so wondering if cost would have increased?

Hi Frank,
The jet is positioned 4 inches from the rear edge of the bonnet on the centre line.
My jet which appears to be original as the car had not been apart previously has 2 jets, on the inside of the bonnet it has a steel spacer 3/8 long and a chrome nut.
