#1 Distance between the seat and steering wheel
I'm 5 '6" and just looked at a series 2 2+2. When the seat is pulled forward enough for me to operate the pedals, the gap between the steering wheel and seat is just 2 1/2 inches, just enough to get my legs under but not comfortable.
I assume something is wrong with the car rather than being typical?

Steering wheel is adjustable in/out....but this is a lhd/rhd conversion....has it been done correctly...does the car have the correct seats...Steve

Seats look correct, but have been retrimmed.
Bought for 5000 us dollars in 2002, converted to rhd, some engine work and fettling then sold valued for insurance at £22,000 in 2004. It's not clear who did that work so can't answer the question was it done right. I didn't look for the adjustable bolts. Damn

its a large knurled plastic adjuster that you turn to loosen...move wheel in/out then re tighten....Steve

The seats to me look very heavily padded....so the base you sit on may be higher....haveing said that the steering wheel is typically close to your legs......teve

Talking about height, the steering column is also adjustable up and down, at least this is on the ots. Look from underneath, there is a slotted adjustment with a 1/2 long bolt.

Humm, Steve now you make me doubt... on the S1 for sure as I had to tackle the newly trimmed MX5 seats padding, but this was no concern for me on the S2, will look closely when back home as now travelling far.

Another solution would be to fit a smaller steering wheel, the standard wheel is 16 inch diameter, Moto Lita and others sell them down to 12" to fit the E type, personally I would not go lower that 14" unless your car has power steering or you have Popeye's arms.
