Etype Series 2 - US spec - 5 speed gearbox

Hi all - does anyone know or know where I can find out, if Jaguar built any series 2 etypes with a 5 speed gearbox? Thanks in advance

As far as I know Jaguar never fitted anything other than the four speed manual or three speed automatic boxes to the E Type. The only exception was I believe Lofty’s four speed plus overdrive fitted as an experiment to his 2+2.

Hi..Do you mean from the factory in the 60s 70s...not as far as im aware....but JLR do sell a 5 speed and they do have a classic division that restor and sell cars..so they may well have restored/ rebuilt a S2 with a 5 speed...like many others have......Steve
