Hi,
Late 68 2+2
New to 2+2 front seat fixing locations.
Front buttons fix to the cross member?
Do the rear fixings have some sort of bracket to raise them to the level of the cross member or not?
I used some tubing to raise the rear on the 1st image but not happy with it and not sure of the original arrangement.
Many Thanks
Eddie Cross

Hi Eddie,
Don’t think there is anything on the rear mounts. There should be a recess on the front mounting points where the buttons bolt into. The recess is angled suggesting that the rail does indeed slope rearward.
The front of the seat may well be higher than the rear, which is probably a good thing.

On my S1 2+2, there were 1/2 tall spacers at the rear and ( from memory ) 3/16 spacers under the front buttons. The angle relief at the front won't be enough without lifting the front buttons slightly, as I found out when adjusting seat heights.
Being a 2+2, the tall rear spacers were probably used to give passengers foot room under the seats.
