#1 S2 Service & Parts Manual

Post by Heuer » Tue Aug 30, 2011 2:24 pm

Anyone have copies of these in pdf format? For some reason the S2 manuals seem to be very hard to locate.

David : the Service Manual is in my book as a supplement to the original manual ( and this is a Brooklands reprint) . The parts manuals are, however, as you say, very difficult to find, and although I have had an S2 for 15 years, I have never seen one

I now have the parts manual (thanks John!) but it is text only. Anyone have the pictorial version?

The only S2 pictorial parts guide available is this one: http://www.xkebooks.com/ but it costs $195 + postage. It was a private initiative and probably should be in the library of every S2 owner despite its price.

Does anyone know if this parts manual is a worthwhile investment for S2 parts illustrations?

Currently I'm relying on the SC Parts catalogue and the JDHT Service Manuals/Parts List CD.

Thanks,

Chris

It is basically the S1 catalogue illustrations were parts are common and just text for the S2. Your only option is the one from XKEbooks which is superb and given the cost of restoring/maintaining one of these cars the $195 +p&p is probably money well spent.
It is not only a pictorial parts guide but also includes:

"450 page hard copy parts manual, including 143 illustrations covering Open, Fixed Head Coupe, and 2+2 Models

Including:
Guide for decoding Jaguar part numbers
Hundreds of detail photos of original cars
Detail photos of grommets, plug locations, decal locations, etc.
Bonnet assembly details (photos and descriptions)
Description of variation in model years"

Hello,

I have a S1 2+2 build january 67.
my parts book j38 jear 67 does not show or hold the open head lights.
I know it was the very first 2+2 with these lights an someone told me that there should be e supplement 4.2 to the 2+2.
Would be nive to know where I can find the parts for my bonnet and lamps.
Thank you
Maikel
