The OTS/roadster has a stop towards the rear of the door to prevent the glass getting too high and causing trouble chipping the glass were the door to be shut with the top down.

If the manual was written for a roadster, then perhaps this would explain the odd wording which won't apply to the coupe version.

kind regards
Marek

To get the glasses out, it is usually essential to remove the frame at the same time . The basic technique is to leave the door glass about 2/3 to 3/4 of the way up , release the frame fastenings which are drive screws along the top rail and nuts and bolts at the base of the legs of the frame . Then get an assistant to slowly ease the frame upwards while you raise the door regulator with the handle. there will come a point where the regulator wheels will reach the end of the channel and can be slipped out of it. Once this has been achieved, the whole frame and glass can be lifted off the door altogether.

Many thanks for this information

The workshop manual clearly on refers to the roadster which does not apply

Have now removed glass as suggested

To release the winder I also undid the 4 bolts holding the winder in the centre of the door

Now back to stripping car and finding rust!

Thanks once again
