#1 S2 DHC Hood Frame

Post by jmgtaylor » Wed Nov 19, 2008 7:27 pm

I am building my hood (softtop) back up from a kit of parts that was supplied with the car and I think, I have a bit missing. unfortunately I cant find any details to show whether it is or is not.

Essentially I think it is one of the long "sticks" that runs across the car and is situated about half way dowrn the door windows, sems as though it should be about 3 inches behind the front "pan".

Photos of other hoods seem to show one there, but does anyone know or can anyone advise. If there is one, where can I get one - the thought of paying for a replacement hood frame does not appeal and would end up making something myself but would rather find the right part.

Anyone breaking a hood?

I think, but am nor sure, that the S2 had one less hood stick than the S1. The stick that you refer to was replaced by a fitment to the rear of the metal pressing that forms the front of the hood assembly on all the cars. Hopefully someone will correct me if that's wrong information.
