I'm in the process of trying to select replacement rear shocks and springs for my S2 FHC 4.2. can you recommend a supplier?
thanks.
What's the current recommended replacement rear shocks?

I replaced the overpriced Koni's on my car (three failed in 20k miles) with standard Boge. A third of the price and the handling and ride are superb. Made me realise not to mess with trick shocks on an E-Type! For springs try David Manners as some people seem to have had problems with ride height from some vendors.

Hi,
I just replaced my old orange Koni's (over 25 old, but in good order) with the Boge's as David mentioned. I'm pleased with the ride and comfort (and price!). Much better then the Koni's (too hard). At the front I also replaced the Koni's, but didn't notice any difference with the Boge's. I Had the Koni's at the softest setting.
@ David. Do you know the length of the rear springs uncompressed from David Manners?

No I don't - give them a ring and ask. It would be interesting to know because AndrewH has an over-height ride problem on his restoration: http://etypeuk.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... c&start=60

Hi
I read the thread with interest. I also have a rear ride height question. I can't get the rear camber into spec. With no shims between brake disc and drive shaft I only get -1/4 degrees camber. My drive shaft isn't in a horizontal plane when viewed from the back. The springs I had on the car before the new ones (SNG B) are 28 cm length uncompressed (so with no shocks). The new ones I can't measure as they are fitted to the car. Can you agree that ride height is a directly affected by the spring length. And ride height is a cause for not getting camber into spec. So my conclusion is that I need shorter springs.
