Am I correct in thinking the exhaust manifolds fitted to the US models are the same as the UK ones?

No : the US ones usually have a platform for the crossover manifold used with Strombergs to bolt to

As Christopher says, they are different. I have a spare front one if you need one. As well as the threaded mounting lugs, they do not have the gaps between each exhaust outlet.

No necesariamente mi amigo!
The front manifold on mixture crossover systems is the same as any other.
The later hot air crossover systems (tin black hot crossover halfway along the cam covers) blended hot air at the rectangular air filter, same as XJ engines. These all had both manifolds hidden under a plated steel shroud and indeed that type have no porcelain and are a heavier webbed pattern as you describe.

I don't have a crossover pipe, just a tin cover over both manifolds. The reason behind the question because I'm looking to replace the exhaust system and wanted to keep the cast manifolds if there isn't a performance deficit keeping the US ones.

Your manifolds are fine. The only difference is that they have the flats on them to mount the cover. I'd refit it as it is a heat shield.
