Hello,
Does anybody knows how to change the oil from a automatic gearbox? A friend of my has his oilpan dismounted but he don't know how to empty his converter! apparently there isn't a drain plug in the converter!
Thanks for reply.

You can run the new oil through the box by putting a container in line with the cooler lines to the radiator but this needs a lot of fluid and good technique. a simpler method is to replace what you drain out with fresh fluid, use the car and fifty miles later repeat. There is still a tiny proportion of old fluid left so you can do it again if you want, down to homeopathic dilutions!

I changed the oil by removing the filling tube and the oilpan. The filter is a steel one so you can wash it out and use it again.
The converter doesn't have a drainplug so there will be some oil left behind
I filled the gearbox with Repsol Dexron II D (8,5 liters) and checked the oil level (warm in P, engine at idle).
