Sold this afternoon at Brooklands:

Went for ?115k in the end - i.e. just shy of ?129k once buyer's premium is added on. A record for an S2 perhaps?

I think it was worth so much because it has an unmodified rear end, very rare these days .... :) :)

Nice to see the original original style rear end but shame about the ribbed cam covers that get mentioned in the wrightup about the S2 and the indicatot stork......however I like the idea of the seat belt buckles on the tunnel.....anyone seen this before

Good to see the rare unmodified rear end, the battery cable that runs across the engine bay via the bulkhead, the triple carbs with brass dashpot covers etc etc. Concours? Never! :D
great price though (hood fit wasnt that good either!).

Agreed. 'Concours' in the sense of being spotless and shiny, rather than concours in the sense of being factory original. Still, good to see an S2 attracting such strong money - even if it did make for a slightly nervous drive home up the A3 in mine in the dark afterwards... :D

Its good to see the S2 cars being recognised for what they are now. Not as pretty as a S1 (in my view) but the gap in values is way too big.

Wrong gearbox and wheels as well. Both are upgrades of course suggesting that only very early "historically significant" cars (the first 100 or so?) are really worth leaving absolutely as they left Browns Lane. The other 70,000+ of us can make them easier and nicer to drive AND add value with well chosen, sympathetic upgrades :)

Its a lot more concours than that one. It even has the original engine!
