Those of you blessed with a 2+2 will realise that our cars are very special, part of this is the number of parts that aren't common with the 'lesser' models. One such part is the hose that connects the inlet manifold to the heater pipe on the bulkhead. I bought a "set" of silicone hoses from SNGB, naively thinking that a set would include all the hoses needed to replace the originals. I was wrong however, there was no hose included to link these two points. SNGB sent me a length of silicone hose which was way too short and wasn't shaped in any way, I believe this was for a FHC/OTS. Having given up on SNGB I looked to other vendors, despite originally telling me they didn't have it in stock, Norman Motors came up trumps this week with the right hose. Unfortunately this hose is of the kevlar variety but at least it is shaped properly, I am speaking with SNGB to see if they can possibly source a silicone alternative.

FYI silicon is a brittle semiconductor mineral. Silicone is the synthetic rubber you're referring to. The former is one component of the latter but otherwise they have nothing in common.

I faced a similar issue. Ordered a hose kit from Robey and got a straight hose for this manifold to heater connection. I solved the problem by inserting a spring inside the hose. Luckily I had one at home of the same diameter as the hose ID. The spring allows the hose to gently bend without crushing.
It looks reasonably good and fit the function.
