#1 Centre switch panel

The centre switch panel has never hinged down far being restricted by the radio console, especially the guards around the headlight switches pushing against the top of the radio console. Maybe an angle of 45 degrees, but with the radio console removed it hinges about 90 degrees.
Had hoped that when refitting the gearbox cover and central armrest that it would fit lower and give decent access to the fuses and switches. Not so.
What is normal? Any advice to improve the situation?
Thanks, Geoff

Hi Geoff
have the same problem, I think on mine cos there is a lot of sound/heat insulation around the area. I leave my radio console loose, it doesn't move at all and if I need to drop down the console I just pull it forward. There is enough wire on the radio to make it easily.

Thanks Steve and Ian. Had a look at Jag Lovers and the suggestions.
The metal cover over the gearbox is as low as the fixings will allow, so may have to trim the carpet where it fits under the centre armrest and see if that'll do the job. Or accept pulling out the radio panel to gain access.

Geoff

If I can be bothered I'm going to try trimming 1/2" off the BOTTOM of the console. This should let it sit a bit lower.

If you end up with an unsightly gap between the top of the console and the bottom of the panel you can then fit the rubber strip.
