#1 Series 2 fhc 69 possible colour change

Post by Mickyflynn55 » Fri Feb 05, 2016 7:06 am

Hi all ...... Well the jag is going in for a full bare metal paint job , the factory colour at the moment is British racing green , I'm thinking of a possible colour change to opalescent gunmetal grey , I know it wasn't an original factory colour that year or for a series 2 , any thoughts or suggestions would be most welcome,
Thank god it's Friday ...... Mick

Hi Mick.....what would give you the most pleasure.....it wont really affect the resale....just go with what you want....both would look great...

Changed my 1969 Series 2 from Sable to Opalescent Gunmetal Grey. Very happy with the outcome:

I'd probably be a little more torn over moving away from a classic colour like BRG than I was with Sable, but like mgcjag says ultimately the best advise is to go with whatever would give you the most pleasure: i.e. paint it for yourself, not the next owner.

MIck, for direct comparison go to g**gle images and search for "jaguar e type brg" then for "jaguar e type gunmetal grey".

If I did not have a red E type then gunmetal grey is the colour I would choose.
It suits the Etype really well and remind me of the DB5 of my father in Law.

The best advice I can give is .... don't park your E type near a cricket field :D
( particularly at what looks like long on - aka cow corner - for a right handed batsman ) :(
