Just picked up the S2 from stone chip repairs. He matched the flat paint. Looking very good!

No it wouldn't.
It would have added £35 to my bill.
Anyway, vinyl finishes are in. Gloss is too 2015. 2016 matt is where its at.

Looks good. Almost as if he's only used the "base" colour part of the base & clear. Base is really easy to apply, almost idiot proof (ask me why I know 
), and clear can be really tricky ...
Of course maybe he didn't spray base coat, maybe just rolled on some grey primer

Hello David,
Yes, that is what I asked him to do. It was a little more involved than I am pretending.
Grey primer would have been ok with me 4 years ago, but now its a bit Shoreditch (hipster).
What really got me into e types, was this lot I went for, glad I didn't win. Still like this car though.

On a side matter, I used to be a car painter, having got my City and Guilds and the Colchester Institute. Cant say I have used it much, but I know when a garage is taking my leg up and I have a fair idea what I can get away with!
Definitely many legs being taken up in the classic car world. No change there then. The best ones are the guys that charge £5k to valet a super car. My heroes.

Oh, btw, I'm probably gonna be more active on the S2 pages (so far mostly S1 and Technical), managed to stumble across an S2 OTS just put out on the 'net late one night, and after a few hours of on-line chatting took a punt and put in an low offer. Which to my surprise had been accepted by the time I woke up... Not told the wife yet. Hence my S1 2+2 in shiny Opalescent Gunmetal Grey has to go. No room at the inn.

Sounds like an interesting new project David. I too found an online deal. I agreed a price, paid a £1k deposit, then made arrangements to collect, booked a truck, moved finances around and arranged storage facility. The seller then started to wobble, then pushed price up, then pulled out of the deal. Fortunately I found an alternative project which then led to a further project (not sure how I got approval from SWMBO for 2 additional cars). Look forward to seeing your new S2.
