Hello,
I replaced my door Frame Rubber Seal (outsite chrome frame arround window) by new ones that I pursched from SNG. I noticed that the new ones had a different shape then the old ones (see attachment). Left is the new and right to old.
The lip that must seal to the door frame lies flat
Did anyone had the same issue?

Are these the rubbers that slide into the front of the door glass frame? If so, a similar problem was covered in the July edition of The E-Type magazine. CO Baines supply the rubber on the right and apparently SNG supply both.
SNG said "customers prefer the narrow profile (on left), as they report difficulty closing the door with the other profile"

The one on the right is usually shaped like the one on the left after a few years of use. Suppose it depends whether you prefer pre-shrunk stone-washed denim, or wearing out your own jeans in person...

Hoi Henkie,
Hoe is het? Ben je lid van de E-type club?
I had the same issue and I recently discovered an answer on this matter I had for years. I never understood the function because the lip was bent. So what is purpose? It was discussed in the recent E-type magazine as Chrisvine mentioned. So there was my answer.
I contacted SNG this week and the salesman told me they a short version and a long version; he hadn't read the article by the way, but I can understand that. Not so much of answer that clearifies which to order, so I will ordering them soon at COH Baines:
http://www.coh-baines.co.uk/products/IR ... slots.html
BY the way, I didn't understand the answer Julian gave in the magazine, because when I ordered mine a couple years ago they only had the wrong ones at SNG and no option between the two.
Best regards,
Richard

I do not believe the rubber lip will rise through time because it doesn't hit anything (maybe viagra will do the trick

).
SNG did respond with part number BD19397/m saying they have two options for it (why don't they show that in there parts cataloge....).
Looking at BD19397/m (see picture below) I think the lip is too thick ( should be a lip of a windshield wiper) and maybe thats why they have closing /opening issues.
Parts are ordered, and we will see.
