It depends which BAS you are talking about. Note carefully that the BAS in the USA has NOTHING to do with BAS in South Wales , UK . I can highly recommend the UK organisation

Hi Ed...cant help with the blue but recently retrimmed my interior in Barly......had a few samples from BAS uk and also from Aldridge......of various similar colours and they were all quite a flat mat finish.......my old seats were really shiney......when i questioned this i was told that the shine comes with use.....from leather furniture in the home i know that this is so.........re the perforations...its the same leather but if its for the S2 they perforate it.........the samples are a very good match to the seat covers they produce but may vary slightly due to individual hide colouring......have you mailed them to check the colour samples you have recieved

If you look on xkedata at 1E20357 you will see my blue FHC for which all the interior was provided by BAS. The seats being S1 are not perforated but have the semi matt finish you refer to , and in fact look better that way than with a gloss finish . Yours being the later seat will look slightly different but I hope the pic there will be a guide

Edit : to save you looking here is one of the pics

I have a brand new original set of black S2 seat covers with small panels inserted by BAS. The leather is fractionally shinier on the originals.

Before emigrating I lived in Cambs and one day leaving the village in the OTS, top down, a nutcase in a Golf GTI came up behind flashing his headlights like crazy. I pulled over, not amused, thinking I was going to get the 'I had one of those!" speech. He got out of his car and I recognized him vaguely as a fellow villager who had the occasional sporty Audi etc.

"I used to have one of those!", he started. Oh dear...

Turned out, he used to be the manager of Unipart 30-odd years earlier and he had 'obtained' a set of returned new seat upholstery covers sent back because there were two seat covers the same side. After seeing me out and about in all weathers in the old girl, and having sold his own E decades earlier, he decided it was time to get rid of the covers, as he was packing to move house. I offered him a hundred quid because my car had very nice red seats already and they were no real use to me. He was fine with that.

I gave the duplicate original cover to Steve Evans at the next Stoneleigh, and he cut and shut the cheeks, using the original perforated centre panel plus bits of their own current black leather at the sides. The match is not perfect but I'm sure once sat on for a while, the two sheens would become almost identical.

Yes indeed. All matching : dark blue leather, vinyl, moquette and carpet - although the tones vary as can be seen on the pics

Hi Ed......just to confirm with Christoper that his upholstery is what Jaguar called dark blue to the e tyoe.....i can see from you questioning it that you probably thought it was not as dark as you expected.....but it is the correct colour to match a Heritage certificate with dark blue as the interior colour

Yes, Ed and Steve, that is the factory dark blue, - in reality the leather is a mid-blue - and ( on my screen at least ) the colour in real life is as you see it on screen . I was torn between this and the much paler grey/blue that was a factory colour also,( I can't remember whether it was called light blue or French blue, but it comes out a rather insipid light grey ) but having seen how kicked the sill cover becomes in the end I had no difficulty in choosing the darker blues

yes it does seem lighter than dark blue. i remember the leather and vinyl were identicle in color. i found original pix on xkedata.com that shows dark blue as i have seen in past.
as an aside, the xkedata webside allows you to search for specific series 2 interior or exterior colors. a great search engine.

It's difficult to judge colours precisely as every computer will display it slightly differently. Anyway, here's my interior which "to me" looks accurate.

It was done by Suffolk & Turley a few years ago (before my ownership) but the invoice just states "Dark Blue". The carpet is wool. I'm afraid I don't have any pictures of the kit prior to fitting.

I am 6ft average leg length for that height. On request, BAS put 1" less padding in the driver's seat for me and I don't have to incline my neck with the soft top up now.

Well worth considering if you are vertically challenged.
