#1 Door Seal Options

Post by Paddy » Thu Oct 14, 2021 10:01 pm

Can anyone offer any suggestions for replacement door seals please on my fhc. I am at the point of fitting and checking external fittings before the paint shop trip.
I have tried a sample from SNG which doesn’t work on my car, at the very top of the door I can see the seal is not touching the outer chrome and will leak water and not be air tight. Adjusting the chrome frame does not appear to make much of a difference, there isn’t much play already.
Just wondering if anyone had found a trick or an outsize seal that would help. I have replaced the seal retainers and would prefer to stick with the slide in seals rather than glueing.
Many thanks

Not sure, but I think it's the door itself you should be adjusting if you see a gap, not the frame.

I agree with Malcolm, check the door fit. There are details of how to do this in the technical information part of the knowledge base (look for door fitting guide) and if you read this topic it will also help you get everything correct:
