Newby here. Where are the earths I need to check?vee12eman wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 9:03 pmI have to agree with the earth cable check. For me it was the one down by the regulator itself. I think in the end I fitted a nut and screw/bolt, after cleaning up the metal behind it, then making sure there was a good earth, then painting over the head of the screw/bolt. This left the end of the (fairly long) screw/bolt protruding as a sort of earth stud.
Hope that helps and prevents you from going down the expensive route of buying a new regulator or alternator.

Hi Harry,
Sorry for the slow answer, I don't get on here very much these days.
This is the earth I had trouble with, I modified it slightly but the location is the same. It's the stud at the right of the picture, just forward of the wires exiting the plug, it may be a screw fitting, make sure the metal is not corroded where the screw/bolt/stud is fitted.
Hope this helps.
